Church Blessing - March 30, 2019

On March 30, we had the great privilege of hosting five priests, one Brother, and eight seminarians at Our Lady of Good Success for the blessing of the church. Fr. Wegner, the SSPX district superior, conducted the blessing, assisted by Fr. Harber, our pastor; Fr. Muscha, a vocation from our parish; and Fr. Sulzen, a prior pastor. Fr. Bourbeau, a prior pastor, was also in attendance, along with Brother Stanislaus, a guest of the parish. Four of the seminarians assisted at the Mass while the remaining four comprised the schola.

THE BUILDING PROJECT

Western North Dakota has experienced a dramatic surge in oil development in the past ten years. This economic expansion has greatly increased the population and imposed burdensome and very real problems on the area and its infrastructure. As the community has grown so has our parish. In 2008, responding to this growth, we began to research and prepare for a new and larger church building. In 2010 a capital campaign was started within our parish to ensure the needed financial obligations. We held an auction each year to raise monies and awareness for this endeavor. By 2016 our parish had raised over $1,200,000. During the fall of 2017, construction for "Our Lady of Good Success" began in Dickinson. It resembles a Romanesque Basilica in the form of a cross, with seating for 240 people, and includes a social hall. The total cost of the project will be over $2,500,000. All donations are tax deductible. Our Lady of Good Success is a licensed 501 (c) (3) corporation.
